Following an influx of demand, DITO Telecommunity is finding itself in the hot water for wanting to live up to its promise of bringing affordable Wi-Fi internet service to homes.

Davao-based billionaire and owner of DITO Dennis Uy has sent out an apology to customers who have long been waiting for DITO Home.

Citing “overwhelming demand” as the root cause of the issue, the company states that they are “diligently working all the applications” while subsequently asking to be excused due to the volume of the work.

DITO acknowledged people’s eagerness to hear from them, prompting a promise to keep the customers updated “within the next seven working days.”

Considered the third telecommunication company to compete with both SMART and Globe Telecom, DITO tried to disrupt the market with its affordable mobile internet and subscription services, though not including home Wi-Fi services as part of its commitment to the National government.

With an introductory price of Php745 per month for the first six months of service, DITO Home UNLI 5G is an affordable broadband subscription that promises a speed of up to 500Mbps+ at home.

The initial price promo is only valid for customers who would avail of the service until October 6, 2023.

But for customers who are looking for a cheaper offer, there is also the data-capped postpaid plan that comes with 200 GB of data allocation, which allows for leftover data to carry over the following month, for only Php990 per month.
