HONOR-Magic-5-Pro

After teasing it for quite sometime, HONOR has finally launched its latest line of flagship devices, the new Magic 5 series.

The new HONOR Magic 5 and 5 Pro were introduced alongside the Magic Vs during their event at MWC 2023. First, let’s talk about the Pro model, which features a special 1/1.12-inch sensor with a bright f/1.6 aperture, and optical image stabilization.

Joining the main camera is another 50-megapixel sensor behind an ultra-wide glass and another 50-megapixel shooter with a periscope-style telephoto that can do 3.5x optical zoom and up to 100x digital magnification.

The camera hardware is aided by a 3D ToF laser, IMAX Enhanced Movie Master, HDR10+ video recording, and Magic-Log 10-bit format.

Another highlight here is the large display. It’s a 6.81-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2160Hz PWM dimming, 1300nits peak brightness, IMAX Enhanced, and even has a Discrete Display Chipset for better display quality and performance, which was co-created by Qualcomm.

Under the hood, it’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, paired with 12GB fast LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. The battery has a 5,100mAh capacity charged by a 66W wired adapter and has support for 50W wireless SuperCharge.

Next stop, we have the vanilla HONOR Magic 5. A cheaper alternative, it has a slightly smaller 6.73-inch display with lower 1,600-nits peak brightness. The cameras also took a beating with the main one now only a 54-megapixel 1/1.49-inch sensor and the telephoto using a 32-megapixel shooter.

Oh, and it also lacks wireless charging. But other than that, everything else is the same.
