OPPO just launched the A56s 5G as a more powerful follow-up to the A56 5G that came out just a few months before.
The OPPO A56s 5G uses a budget-friendly yet still capable MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor — a noticeable upgrade over the Dimensity 700 chip found on the standard A56 5G. Obviously, this brings the current 5G connectivity standard as well as gaming performance with its Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.
As a standard to all its variants, the A56s 5G comes with 8GB of RAM, but it does have two storage options: 128GB and 256GB. If the space from the top-tier variant is not enough, there’s also the microSD card slot for expansion.
The A56s 5G managed to get a 90Hz refresh rate. However, it has a low-resolution 6.56-inch HD+ display. On the upside, it gets to have a stereo speaker setup.
On top of the screen sits an 8-megapixel selfie camera. While on the back, there’s a decent 13-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a dual-LED flash.
A 5,000mAh battery is also onboard, which is no surprise since the majority of devices today — no matter the price category — has a similar capacity. Sadly, charging is a bit slow at 10W, but does plug via the modern USB Type-C port.
As said earlier, the OPPO A56s comes in 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB variants, which retail in China for CNY1,099 (~Php8,900) and CNY1,299 (~Php10,500), respectively. No word yet if we’ll see it on the global scene.
