In today’s tech-savvy world, having a bootable flash drive with multiple ISOs is a valuable tool for system administrators, IT professionals, and even casual users who need to install or troubleshoot various operating systems. Ventoy is a free and open-source software that allows you to effortlessly create a multi-bootable USB flash drive, enabling you to boot multiple ISOs from a single drive.
Prerequisites:
- A USB flash drive with at least 8GB of storage space
- ISO files of the operating systems you want to boot
- Ventoy software (downloadable from https://www.ventoy.net/)
Step-by-Step Guide:
- Download and Extract Ventoy: Visit the official Ventoy website (https://www.ventoy.net/) and download the latest version of the software. Extract the downloaded zip file to a convenient location on your computer.
- Run Ventoy2Disk.exe: Locate the extracted Ventoy2Disk.exe file and double-click it to launch the application.
- Select USB Flash Drive: Ensure your USB flash drive is properly connected to your computer. In the Ventoy2Disk application, select your USB flash drive from the “Device” drop-down menu. If the drive doesn’t appear, try clicking the “Refresh” button.
- Choose GPT or MBR Partition: The Ventoy2Disk application will prompt you to choose between GPT or MBR partitioning. GPT is recommended for newer PCs and laptops, while MBR is suitable for older systems.
- Install Ventoy: Click the “Install” button to begin the installation process. Ventoy will format the USB flash drive and install the necessary files.
- Add ISO Files: Once the installation is complete, you can add ISO files to your multi-bootable flash drive. Simply drag and drop the ISO files into the root directory of the USB drive.
- Boot from Multi-Bootable Flash Drive: Insert the multi-bootable flash drive into the target computer. During the boot process, enter the BIOS or UEFI settings and change the boot order to prioritize the USB drive.
- Select ISO to Boot: Upon restarting the computer, you will be presented with a boot menu listing all available ISO files on the flash drive. Choose the ISO file you want to boot from.
